Find Your OINP Starting Point.
Answer three short questions to identify which current Ontario pathway deserves review first. This is planning guidance—not an eligibility decision.

Use The Redesigned OINP.
Ontario replaced its former stream structure in 2026. New applicants should assess the Ontario Workforce Priority stream and its current intake process.
Ontario Workforce Priority
The redesigned stream supports eligible foreign workers with qualifying Ontario job offers across NOC TEER 0–5, plus an eligible physician pathway.
- Ontario employer and position
- Pathway-specific applicant rules
- Invitation before application
Express Entry Nomination
Eligible applicants may have an Express Entry nomination option when the current Ontario and federal requirements are met. This must be chosen and coordinated correctly.
- Valid Express Entry profile
- Federal program eligibility
- Nomination accepted in profile
Explore Current OINP Pathways.
Compare the redesigned pathways and the supporting requirements that can determine whether an Ontario profile is ready for the invitation process.
Higher-Skilled Pathway
For qualifying Ontario job offers in NOC TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3, subject to current work-experience, language, education and status rules.
Confirm the current pathway criteria.Lower-Skilled Pathway
For eligible offers in NOC TEER 4 or 5, with its own applicant requirements and Ontario workforce priorities.
TEER alone does not establish eligibility.Physician Pathway
For eligible physicians practising or intending to practise in Ontario under the current pathway conditions.
Professional authorization must be reviewed.Work Experience
Duration, timing, occupation, duties, paid hours and connection to the offered role must satisfy the chosen pathway.
Reference evidence must match the NOC.Language and Education
Approved language results and educational evidence may be required at pathway-specific levels.
Use current results and valid assessments.Ontario Employer
The supporting business must satisfy operational, revenue, employee and compliance requirements applicable to its location and offer.
The employer files first.Employment Position
The role, wage, location, business need and employment terms must meet Ontario's current position requirements.
A job title alone is not enough.EOI and Invitation
The employer position and candidate profile enter the current system; Ontario decides whom to invite based on program priorities and scoring.
An EOI is not an application.Ontario Nomination
After invitation, a complete application is assessed by Ontario before any federal permanent-residence stage.
Nomination is not final PR approval.Do not rely on the former stream names. Ontario changed the program in 2026. Confirm the live pathway, intake status, employer process and invitation rules before taking action.
Review OINP Fit →Details Change OINP Eligibility.
A genuine offer is only the beginning. Ontario examines the occupation, employer, applicant history and integrity of the employment arrangement together.
NOC and Job Duties
The actual work must match the claimed NOC and the TEER pathway used in the application.
Employer Eligibility
Operating history, Ontario premises, revenue, employees and compliance are assessed under current rules.
Wage and Position
The wage, permanency, hours and business need must meet the applicable Ontario requirements.
Applicant Experience
Paid work, dates, hours, duties and relationship to the offered position must be documented.
Language and Education
Current test results, credentials and assessments must satisfy the selected pathway.
Ontario Settlement Intent
Your employment, residence, family plans and Ontario connections should support a credible intent to settle.
Build The Employer Side First.
The redesigned OINP gives the supporting Ontario employer a central role. A candidate cannot repair an ineligible employer or position with a stronger personal profile.
Review Employer Eligibility →Ontario Operations
Confirm active business operations, physical work premises and the financial and employee thresholds applying to the business location.
Permanent Position
Review full-time hours, indeterminate duration, wage, NOC duties and whether the position is necessary to the employer's operations.
Position Approval
The employer submits the employment position through Ontario's process before the candidate can complete the connected nomination steps.
Support and Compliance
The employer must preserve accurate information, respond to Ontario and maintain the qualifying offer through the required stages.
Check Your Ontario Readiness.
Select the information already available. The checklist shows preparation progress only; it does not calculate eligibility.
A strong candidate cannot compensate for a non-qualifying employer, position or outdated pathway assumption.
Follow The OINP Sequence.
Coordinate the employer, candidate, invitation, nomination and federal stages in the correct order.
Assess The Offer
Confirm the employer, role, wage, location, NOC and applicable pathway.
Prepare Employer Filing
The employer submits the qualifying employment position through the current portal process.
Register The EOI
Complete an accurate candidate profile when the system is open and the position is ready.
Respond To Invitation
If invited, submit the complete provincial nomination application within the stated deadline.
Complete Federal PR
After nomination, use the correct IRCC route and satisfy all federal and admissibility requirements.
Avoid Ontario Filing Mistakes.
The July 2026 redesign makes old articles, calculators and stream assumptions especially risky.
Former Employer Job Offer, graduate and Express Entry stream names no longer describe the route for new candidates. Start with the current framework.
The candidate route depends on a qualifying Ontario employer and employment position. Review that evidence before relying on an EOI strategy.
Ontario and IRCC look at duties, not only the job title. An incorrect NOC can affect the pathway, scoring and eligibility.
An EOI places a profile into Ontario's selection system. Only invited candidates can submit a nomination application.
A nomination is an important provincial decision, but IRCC still decides the permanent-residence application and assesses federal requirements.

Ask About My OINP Route →The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program is Ontario's economic immigration program. Ontario can nominate eligible candidates for permanent residence, but IRCC makes the final federal decision.
Ontario closed its former streams to new candidates and launched the Ontario Workforce Priority stream with higher-skilled, lower-skilled and physician pathways. Current transition and intake instructions should be checked before filing.
The current Ontario Workforce Priority stream is job-offer led. The offer, employment position and supporting Ontario employer must satisfy the applicable requirements.
No. An EOI is a profile in Ontario's selection system. Ontario can target occupations or other priorities and invite selected candidates; registration does not guarantee an invitation.
The current process provides an Express Entry nomination option for eligible applicants who apply with a qualifying job offer and meet the applicable provincial and federal requirements.
Applications submitted under former streams are subject to Ontario's transition instructions and the rules applying when they were filed. An uninvited former EOI should not be assumed to remain active.
No. Ontario assesses the employer, employment position, applicant, pathway criteria, EOI information, supporting evidence and program integrity.
No. IRCC still assesses the permanent-residence application, including admissibility, completeness and applicable federal requirements.
